  • The mother of an alleged teenage murderer was released on bond Thursday. Elva Garcia-Gomez, 43, is accused of aiding and abetting felony murder, specifically the murder of 24-year-old Miguel Tol-Juarez. Garcia-Gomez's son, 16-year-old Miguel Solis is suspected in the Aug. 5 murder. Solis has continued to elude authorities since the murder; a subpoena for records from his Facebook account has been filed in district court. Per the agreements of her $50,000 bond, Garcia-Gomez must wear an ankle monitor GPS system and is not allowed to leave Ford County. She is also ordered to have no contact with witnesses in the murder case, a stipulation which she violated in December while on a previous bond agreement. Garcia-Gomez was arrested Dec. 5 when Lorenzo Gobin, a witness in the case, was discovered in her residence. She was originally arrested Oct. 22. Court records show she has retained Steven D. Mank of Ariagno, Kerns, Mank and White, L.L.C. A lawyer from the same firm, Steven Ariagno, served as the defense for Chris Tahah, a former Dodge City Police officer convicted of murder in August. Garcia-Gomez's next court appearance, a contested preliminary hearing, will be set at a later date in accordance with court calendars. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Solis is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (620) 227-STOP or toll free at (877) 424-4414. Calls can also be made to the DCPD at (620) 225-8128. To text a confidential tip to the DCPD, text DCPD and your tip to 847411 (TIP411).
