Kaden Herbert and Dylan Woods led the Dodge City High boys bowling team to a rout of Liberal and Holcomb in a Tuesday afternoon triangular.
Herbert bowled a 740 series (including a 290 in the second game where he threw 11 strikes after opening the line with a spare). Herbert opened with a 224 and bowled 234 in the final game for the series.
Woods also bowled over 200 in all three games (226, 254, 211) as the Red Demons bowled 3,022 as a team; then beat Liberal 3-0 in the WAC baker's round. Liberal bowled a 2,637 team series and Holcomb had 2,602.
"Kaden and Dylan can bowl a very high series," said DCHS bowling head coach Tyson Clark. "They've done it many times in the past and it was good to see them have a good day. It was good to see the other four improve. They definitely got a lot better from last week."
Other series scores for the Red Demons include Daniel Calvin (490), Colt Woods (481), Dalton Krayenhagen (439) and Jaden Fleener (366).
The Lady Demons bowled 2,032 in their series, then went 1-2 in their Baker's match against the Lady Redskins. Liberal had a 2,079 series and Holcomb 2,052.
Katlyn Tabor led Dodge City with a 491 series and Amanda Simmons bowled 483. Other scores include Samantha Reyes (334), Cecilia Wiser (319), Anna Barbara Hernandez (281) and Andrea Enciso (278).
"Amanda and Katlyn continue to be very consistent," Clark said. "Each of the other four girls continue to work hard and getting better. If we pick up a few more spare, then we'll be a very competitive team."
The next action for the Demon bowling squads will be next Tuesday at Garden City.
