  • Josephine “Jo” O. Carroll, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on August 12, 1920 in Minneola, the daughter of Roy Carl and Josephine Bell (Omo) Glaze. Jo graduated from Minneola High School. On September 12, 1944 she married Boyce G. Carroll in Minneola. He died January 29, 2005. She was an accomplished pianist. Mrs. Carroll worked in the Ladies Circle and church council at First Christian Church in Dodge City. She was also active in the Win-A-Couple Sunday School class at the First Christian Church. Jo was a homemaker and loved KU basketball. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City. Mrs. Carroll is survived by a daughter, Jan Faulds and husband Rod of Minneola; two granddaughters, Michelle Hicks and husband Brian of Cheney and Trish Burns and husband Trevon of Cimarron; great-granddaughter, Courtney Hicks of Cheney; and three great grandsons, Connor Hicks of Cheney and Gage and Mason Burns of Cimarron; many nieces and nephews; and all her caregivers. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Roy Glaze, Jr. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at First Christian Church with Dr. Phil Scott presiding. Burial will follow at Appleton Township Cemetery in Minneola. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Swaim Funeral Home.
