The Bucklin Red Aces came back from a six-point halftime deficit to force overtime and didn't allow a Spearville field goal in the extra stanza to record their first win of the season, a 50-43 victory over the Royal Lancers in a boys consolation game at the Southern Plains-Iroquois Activities Association tournament at United Wireless Arena.
The Lancers (3-10) led 25-19 at intermission, but Bucklin scored 12 in the third period and 11 in the fourth to tie the contest at 42-apiece at the end of regulation.
Neither team shot well from the free throw line: Bucklin was 9-of-25, while Spearville was 10-of-27.
Brett Halling scored 14 points to lead the Red Aces (1-11) and Trevon Herrera added 10 for the victory. Nathan Stein led Spearville in scoring with nine points.

The Lady Timberwolves didn't allow a point in the first quarter and extended the lead to 29-8 by halftime on the way to recording the victory over the winless Lady Wildcats in a girls SPIAA consolation game.
Kilee Harris scored 19 points and Alyssa Ediger added 13 for South Central (6-6) that had a running clock in the final quarter.
Baily Shelor scored 11 points to lead Minneola (0-11).
