The Minneola Wildcats took a six-point lead after the opening quarter, then used a late scoring run to seal the 53-36 victory over the Ingalls Bulldogs in a boys consolation game of the Southern Plains-Iroquois Activities Association tournament at United Wireless Arena.
The Wildcats (7-5) outscored the Bulldogs 13-7 in the opening quarter and kept the six-point lead at intermission. Ingalls (3-10) rallied and closed the lead to one early in the fourth quarter before the Wildcats went on a 15-point run to pull away for the win.
Three players scored in double figures for Minneola: Brandy Shumate (14), Matt McClaren (12) and Gary Stewart (10). Chad Myers led Ingalls in scoring with eight.

The Timberwolves never trailed in their victory over the Longhorns, extending their margin to as much as 19 points early in the final quarter.
Koy Alexander scored 15 points and James Cook added 13 in the victory for South Central. Austin Pfannenstiel scored 18 points to lead Hodgeman County and Eric Shelton added six in the loss. The Longhorns made only five of their 15 free throws in the loss.
Both teams end the tournament with records of 6-7.
