  • The Kinsley Lady Coyotes withstood a rabid fourth-quarter rally to record the 43-41 home victory over the South Central Lady Timberwolves in inter-league action Tuesday night.
    Kinsley was ahead by 13 after three quarters, but made only one field goal and two free throws in the final quarter to seal the victory.
    The Lady Coyotes had built a nine-point halftime lead by allowing only one Lady T-Wolves' field goal in the second quarter. Brittany Gleason scored 12 of her game-high 14 points in the first half, while Amber Espinosa scored nine of her 11 before intermission. Alex Herrman led Kinsley (5-8) in the third quarter with all eight of her team's points in the stanza to finish with 10 points.
    South Central's Kilee Harris scored all of her team-high 13 points in the second half, while Haley Unruh tallied eight of her 10 points after intermission for the Lady T-Wolves (3-10).

    BUCKLIN — The Lady Bulldogs beat the Lady Aces for the second time in four days, winning the defensive battle.
    Ingalls (14-0) had beaten Bucklin in the SPIAA girls championship game Saturday night, but this game had the teams playing more deliberate with the emphasis on defense. The Lady Bulldogs scored 12 points in the third quarter to take a six-point lead going into the final stanza after the teams were tied at 9-9 at intermission.
    Bulma Galaviz hit all four of her shots and led Ingalls in scoring with nine points. The rest of the Lady Bulldogs were 6-of-29 from the field.
    Bucklin falls to 9-4 with the loss.
    Ashland 65, South Gray 50
    MONTEZUMA — The Lady Bluejays scored 19 points in the first quarter and outscored the Lady Rebels by seven in the third quarter to seal the victory in SPIAA league action.
    Nichole Borgelt scored 20 points to lead Ashland (11-4), while Canaan Endicott added 19 in the victory. Dusty Watkins scored 25 to lead South Gray (5-8).

    SPEARVILLE — Damien Odle made 10 of his 17 shots to score 23 points in leading the Mavericks to the Southern Plains-Iroquois Activities Association victory over the Royal Lancers.
    Page 2 of 3 - Caleb Davis added 18 points in the victory as Kiowa County (10-5) shot 13-of-23 in the first half for a 33-17 lead at halftime over the host-Lancers.
    Nathan Stein led Spearville (3-11) in scoring with 15 points and Kaden Stein added 12 for the Lancers in the loss. Spearville was 3-of-20 (15 percent) in the first half.

    JETMORE -- The Cimarron Bluejays scored 19 points in the first quarter and 15 in the final to seal the victory over the Hodgeman County Longhorns in an inter-league game Tuesday night.
    Cimarron (8-5) shot 25-of-45 for the game with Stewart Fairbank leading the way with 24 points. Ted Boersma added 16 points and grabbed seven board in the Bluejays' victory, while Christian Fischer scored 15.
    Austin Pfannenstiel scored 17 and Jared Borger 12 in the loss for the Longhorns (6-8).

    KINSLEY — The Coyotes allowed only one field goal in a 19-3 second quarter to record the victory over the Timberwolves in an inter-league game.
    Senior Nathan Frame scored five of his game-high 18 points in the stanza to help lead the Coyotes (7-7) to the victory. Gustavo Chavez scored eight of his 11 points in the first half.
    Koy Alexander led South Central (6-8) in scoring with 14 points and Alec Konrade added 13 in the setback. The Timberwolves didn't help their cause by shooting 8-of-19 from the free throw line.

    MONTEZUMA — The Rebels won their SPIAA league game by slowing down the game into a defensive struggle in the second half.
    South Gray led 26-24 at halftime, but neither team could get into double-digit scoring in the third nor the fourth quarters.
