Police investigating child's death

Officers from the Dodge City Police Department, Ford County Fire/EMS, and the Dodge City Fire Department are investigating the death of a 21-month-old child.
According to a statement from Chief of Police Craig Mellecker, emergency services were dispatched to the residence at approximately 12:07 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 on a report of a child not breathing.
An investigation into the cause of death is on-going.
Mellecker also stated that no additional information will be released until the investigation is complete.
