  • A fire that destroyed a mobile home and a garage and also damaged a workshop last week was most likely electrical.
Jay Taylor, chief of Ford County Fire/EMS, said the fire may have been caused by a power line arcing on some tin.
"It's hard to say what's to blame, but 40 and 50 mile per hour winds were a factor," he said.
Crews from Ford County, Minneola and Dodge City were dispatched to the fire just after 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28 at 11342 El Torro in Green Acres Trailer Court southeast of Dodge City.
"Two of the structures were a complete loss," Taylor said. "The residence and the garage. The workshop was partially damaged."
Investigators from Ford County Fire/EMS have finished their investigation into the blaze. Taylor said he was unsure of the total monetary loss.
"There's so much damage it's hard to say," Taylor said. There were no reported injuries.
