  • As part of the Heart 2 Heart campaign, Dillons stores across Kansas will be spreading a little cheer this Valentine’s Day by delivering single stem roses to area children’s organizations, hospices, family centers and community homes.
For every paper rose purchased at any Dillons, now through February 12, a single stem red rose will be delivered to various local organizations.
All roses will stay in the communities where purchased, to share a friendly smile with those who may be overlooked during the holiday.
"The paper roses cost $3.99 each," Sheila Lowrie, a Dillons spokesperson said. "And help to spread a little holiday cheer to someone who needs it."
Here in Dodge City, roses will be delivered to Youthville, Arrowhead West and area retirement centers.
“Dillons is so excited to share a little cheer this Valentine’s Day with Heart 2 Heart,” Lowrie said. “This is the second year for our Heart 2 Heart campaign in Kansas. We had such a heart-warming experience in delivering balloons last year and spreading smiles from our customers, we couldn’t wait to share a similar experience again this year with fresh roses. We would like to invite our Dillons customers to consider purchasing a rose to extend a kindhearted gesture to those who could really use one this Valentine’s Day.”
All roses will be delivered by Dillons in time for Valentine’s Day.
Thanks to the generosity of Dillons’ customers in 2012, over 15,000 balloons were shared with organizations across Kansas to spread smiles and Valentine’s cheer.
"We were able to deliver 143 balloons last year here in Dodge City and that was wonderful," Lowrie said. "This year we're hoping to be able to help more people, and I think- thanks to our generous customers- we'll be able too."
Lowrie credits the generosity of Dillons customers for the success of all of their donation programs.
"I want to thank all of our customers in advance for helping with the heart 2 Heart program," she said. "It seems like our customers are always willing to open their wallets and hearts when we ask for their help, and that means so much to us."
For more information about the Heart 2 Heart program or to donate a paper rose, ask about the project at Dillons' customer service desk or at any register.
