  • Ronald Kermit Headrick, 81, of Arkansas City, died Wednesday (February 6, 2013) at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday (February 11, 2013) at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Burial will follow in the Parker Cemetery. Pastor Stephen Butler will officiate. The casket will be closed at all times.

  • Ronald Kermit Headrick, 81, of Arkansas City, died Wednesday (February 6, 2013) at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday (February 11, 2013) at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Burial will follow in the Parker Cemetery. Pastor Stephen Butler will officiate. The casket will be closed at all times.
    The family will greet friends Sunday evening 6:00 p.m to 8:oo p.m. at the funeral home.
    Ron was born March 5, 1931, in Mullinville, Kansas to Kermit E. and Ethel Marie (Hughes) Headrick. He was reared and educated in Mullinville, graduating from high school there in 1950. Ron served in the United States Air Force from 1951- 1955. He married Patsy "Pat" Lou (Keller) Stone on October 27, 1973, in Arkansas City. The couple lived in Dodge City, KS, and Ardmore, OK, before moving to Arkansas City in the late 70's. Ron worked as an inspector and mechanic at McConnell Air Force Base of Wichita for many years. He also served as primary care-giver for his wife until her death in 2002. He enjoyed working out at the Arkansas City Recreation Center with his many friends, watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports and attending their many activities. Ron was an avid animal lover, and was also a great fan of Cowley College sports.
    Those left to treasure his memory include a daughter Kathi and husband Bob Martin of Wichita; a son Mike and wife Vicky Stone of Magnolia, Texas; a sister Peggy McMillan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; brothers Jerry Headrick of Plains, Kansas, Glenn Headrick of Blanco, Texas; grandchildren Shannon and husband Jason O’Toole, Patti and husband Jason Rolf, Chris and wife Lesley Stone, Patricia and husband Brian Marzolf, Brandon and wife Shelby Stone; great-grandchildren Hunter, Haden and Hadley O’Toole, Avery and Jevin Foust, Preston and Parker Marzolf and Mackinley and Aniston Rolf.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pat, sisters Maxine Woods, Carol Dierdoff, Cleta Raider, and Charlene Belcher; brothers Ed and Bob Headrick.
    A memorial has been established with Cowley College. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
