Scripture:   Acts 16:6 NIV Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.

7  When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.

Observation:   Paul had been clearly directed by the Holy Spirit to travel and plant churches in various cities in the Roman Empire.  (Acts 13:2-4)  But when it came to the province of Asia, the “green light” turned in to a “red light.”  The “go” became “stop.”

Application:   If I claim Jesus as my Lord, then the “red” lights have to be as important to me as the “green” lights.  As my Lord, He has the right to tell me when to go and when to stop.  He has the right to tell me what to do AND what not to do.  To ignore the green light is to miss opportunities.  To ignore the red lights is to invite trouble.

Prayer:   Lord, thank you for your green and red lights.  Thank you for your yellow light directing me to proceed with caution and to be prepared to stop.  Holy Spirit, you are my traffic signal.     Amen
