Leo F. Turner, 77, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on September 11, 1935 at Hays, the son of Charles L. and Delia Bridgett (Wynne) Turner. On August 18, 1962 he married Shirley Pfannenstel at Ness City. She preceded him in death on June 24, 1965.Leo married Marilyn Morton on February 14, 1970 at Dodge City. He served in the US Army where he was stationed in Korea. Leo was the feed mill manager at the Right CO-OP for 35 years. He retired from the CO-OP in February of 1998. Leo is survived by his wife, Marilyn Turner; son, Brian Turner and wife Jamie; two daughters, Debbie Jackson and husband Randy, and Kathy McVey and husband Kenneth; sister, Nina Weisengerber; six grandchildren, Maddison Horsch, Marissa Jackson, Chelsea Jackson, Shay Turner, Kody McVey and Kris McVey; and two great-grandchildren, Lola and Hattie Horsch. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George and Wayne Turner; and two sisters, Hazel Haas and Dorothy Sierer. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Swaim Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Private family inurnment will be held at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Dodge with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714, V.F.W. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Swaim Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Dodge City Senior Center in care of the funeral home.
