  • Ms. Wheelchair Kansas is approaching the contest's 9th annual event, and to help offset some of the costs two fundraisers are on tap.
"All the money we raise will go towards coordinating our event this year," Carrie Greenwood, the Ms. Wheelchair Kansas state coordinator, said in an e-mail. "So, it could be used to buy T-shirts, gifts for the new titleholder, possibly pay for printing our programs, or something else we need to make our program a success."
Greenwood hopes to raise $300 to $400 with the fundraisers. The two companies participating in the fundraiser are Tastefully Simple and Mixed Bag Designs.
Tastefully Simple, www.tatefullysimple.com, is a website that offers a variety of easy to prepare foods and gifts for every day and every occasion. To ensure that Ms. Wheelchair Kansas receives 30 percent of a purchase order, when checking out make sure to put Kansas and Carrie Greenwood in as the host.
Mixed Bag Designs, www.mixedbagdesigns.com, offers tons of great products including totes, reusable bags, travel bags, travel sets and gifts. All totes and reusable bags are made from recycled materials. To make sure that Ms. Wheelchair Kansas receives 40 percent of the proceeds from a purchase order, make sure to type 169522 in the "school/fundraiser ID#" field on the review/submit order page.
Orders may also be submitted to mswheelchairkansas@yahoo.com, and Greenwood will order for you. All orders must be made by Feb. 25.
"This is a great opportunity to get some great products and support this empowering program that celebrates women with disabilities," Greenwood said. "I am so grateful for everyone's support."
