The Dodge City Lady Demons didn't get stampeded by the visiting Garden City Lady Buffaloes like the first meeting, but they weren't able to keep Garden City from claiming at least a share of the Western Athletic Conference title in a 60-38 decision Tuesday night at the DCHS Fieldhouse.

"We handled their press a lot better and we handled their pressure better until the fourth quarter when we got tired and made mental mistakes," said DCHS head coach Kelley Snodgrass. "We made a run in the third quarter and the girls played their hearts out. We just have to do a better job of keeping them from making transition baskets. They made too many of them in the game."
Alexis Sanchez led Dodge City with nine points, while Chandra Sain came off the bench to add seven more for the Lady Demons.
The teams were tied at 8-8 midway through the first half before Garden City clamped down and used an 11-point run to build a 19-10 lead after the opening period. Bernbeck hit all three of her shots and all three of her field goals to score nine points to lead the Lady Buffaloes attack.
