Willis Gene Summers, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. Willis was born to Gladys and Charlie Summers in Monett, Mo. on November 16, 1929. Willis retired after 25 years from Cudahy Packing Co. in Wichita, Kan. in 1975. He then moved to Christiansburg, Va. in 1980 and retired from the Hercules Arsenal, Radford, Va. in 1991 when he moved back to Wichita. He then moved to Phoenix, Ariz. in 2006. Willis married the love of his life, Deloris R. Summers January 5/6, 1945 in Wichita. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years; daughter, Joan Sustar (Charles) Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter Gail Casey, Wichita; son Terry E. Summers (Shirley) Dodge City; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Verna Mae Williams and Joy Johnson of Monett, Mo., and Gladys Faye Davis, Noel, Mo. He was loved dearly by his numerous nieces and nephews. Dad is also survived by his buddy and constant companion, Little Bit, his dog. Willis was preceded in death by his mother and father and five sisters, Rosine Talmadge, Phyllis Ghan (his twin), Marvella Balmas, Emily Call and Dorothy Fleming.
