William Franklin Griffin, 80, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Halsey Hall in Fort Dodge. He was born on November 8, 1932 in Wolf Lake, Illi., the son of Rolla J. and Lola (Bushy) Griffin.
Bill was raised in Chicago, Ill. He was a resident of Dodge City for over 25 years. Bill was a mail carrier for the United States Post Office. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Dodge City.
Bill is survived by one son, Kenneth Griffin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one daughter, Sharon Ehnhardt and husband DeWayne of Hooker, Okla.; one grandson, Joshua Ehnhardt of Hooker, Okla.; and friends, Shari and Trev Rybacki of Beeler.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City with Pastor Michael Pelletier presiding with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Seventh Day Adventist School in care of Swaim Funeral Home - 1901 Sixth Ave - Dodge City, KS 67801.
