Carmon D. Lix, 73, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at Poudre Valley Hospital, Ft. Collins, Colo.
He was born July 17, 1939 at Dodge City, the son of Vernon L. and Helen F. Bleumer Lix.
He graduated St. Mary of the Plains High School and attended St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City. He moved from Dodge City in 1973 to Garden City where he worked as a branch manager at Kamen Supply for 28 years. In 2001 he moved to Ft. Collins where he worked for MJB Sales, retiring in August 2012.
He was a member of Blessed John XXIII Catholic University Church, Ft. Collins and an honorary Life Member of Knights of Columbus Council 1862, Wright.
Survivors include two daughters, Mandi Lix, Ft. Collins and Marin Lix and fiancée, Artemus Legg, Ft. Collins; ex-wife and mother of the daughters, Sonia Mayrath, Colo.; his mother, Helen Lix, Wright; two brothers, Gerard and wife Diane, Wright, and Terry and wife Libby, Enid, Okla.; two sisters, Lana Dirks, Dodge City, and Sheila McCarty and husband Melvin, Wright; sister-in-law, Josie Lix, Wright; his aunt and godmother, Alice Zurbuchen, Spearville; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Michael Lix.
Vigil service will be 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at St. Andrew Church, Wright. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with Fr. Ted D. Stoecklein presiding. Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the St. Andrew Cemetery Fund or the Larimer County Humane Society both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
