  • Goldbugs, Lady Bulldogs complete perfect regular seasons

  • The Fowler Goldbugs completed a 20-0 regular season with a 67-24 rout of the South Central Timberwolves in a Southern Plains-Iroquois Activities Association matchup at The Dome.
    The Goldbugs led 14-3 after the opening quarter and extended the lead to 22 by halftime. Senior Jett Reese scored 15 points for Fowler, while Joel Milford added 10 in the win. The Goldbugs hit 10 3-pointers in the victory.
    Fowler will be the top-seed in the Class 1A-Division II tournament at Ingalls.
    Meade 76, Spearville 43
    MEADE — The Buffaloes outscored the Lancers 19-6 in the opening quarter and scored 31 points in the final quarter to record the victory.
    The Buffaloes (19-0) hit eight 3-pointers in the game with Jett Little leading the way in scoring with 21 points, while Randy Friesen added 16, Morgan Davis 14 and Trevin Wiens 11 in the victory.
    Nathan Stein led Spearville (5-14) with 15 points and Kaden Stein added 14 for the Lancers. Spearville knocked down five from long range.

    GREENSBURG — The Mavericks didn't allow a Bucklin point in the first quarter and led 45-8 by intermission.
    Rustin Ardery and Kendall Watson scored 16 points apiece to lead the Mavericks (12-8), while Damien Odle added 11 in the victory. Anthony Ledesma led Bucklin (2-17) with seven points.

    INGALLS — The Wildcats overcame a 16-point opening quarter by not allowing an Ingalls field goal in the second half to record the victory and secure the top seed in the Class 1A-Division I Coldwater sub-state.
    Matt McClaren scored 11 points for Minneola's 16-point third quarter. McClaren scored 18 points to lead the Wildcats (11-7). Nathan Hale led Ingalls (3-16) with 11 points.

    JETMORE — The Mustangs scored 36 points in the third quarter and the Longhorns 24 in the wild game between the interleague rivals.
    Macksville (13-7) led by four at halftime before their third quarter offensive showing to build the margin up to 68-52 going into the final stanza.
    Adolfo Ibarra led Macksville with 27 points while Trey Tranberger added 18 in the victory. Austin Pfannenstiel led Hodgeman County (8-11) with 18 points, while Zach Blurton added 15 and Jared Borger 10 in the loss.

    INGALLS — The Lady Bulldogs allowed only five field goals in their final regular season game to finish 20-0 going into hosting the Class 1A-Division II sub-state tournament next week.
    Ingalls allowed one field goal in the first quarter and a free throw in the third quarter to build a 35-10 lead with one stanza remaining.
    Rebecca Wyatt scored 16 points (seven in the first period and nine in the third) to lead the Lady Bulldogs, while Hope Beach added seven in the victory.
    Kristin Schneweis led Minneola (1-17) with six points.

    SATANTA — The visiting Lady Bluejays outscored the Lady Indians 10-1 in the opening quarter on the way to the Hi-Plains League victory to remain unbeaten on the season.
    Morgan Ediger scored 15 points and Eva Koopman and Ashtynn Burns added 11 apiece for Cimarron (19-0). Vanessa Caro scored 15 points to lead Satanta (8-12).

    GREENSBURG — The Lady Mavericks erupted for 18 points in the final period to record the home SPIAA victory over the Lady Aces. Kiowa County trailed by three at halftime, but scored 15 in the third to tie the game at 30-30 going into the final quarter.
    Halie Headrick, Angela Liggett and Dena Liggett all scored 10 points for Kiowa County (11-9). Morgan Hood scored 15 points and Janae Price added 11 for the Lady Aces (14-5).
