  • Snowstorm throws a wrench in area plans

  • Some events canceled, some postponed, some go on as planned.

  • Heavy snowfall in Dodge City, which began Wednesday and continued through the night and through most of Thursday, caused schools and other groups to cancel or rearrange events.
    Here is a list of the changes the Daily Globe had received by press time Thursday:
    Schools
    Both USD 443 and Dodge City Community College announced they would be closed Friday.
    Final Friday
    Final Friday celebrations were canceled at 2nd Ave. Art Guild.
    Carnegie Center for the Arts was closed Thursday and the Globe was unable to reach anyone to determine whether Final Friday celebrations there would go on as scheduled.

    Depot Theater Company
    The Thursday evening performance of "Bus Stop" was moved to a matinee performance Sunday afternoon. Tickets and reservations for Thursday will be honored at Sunday's matinee and additional seats will be available for the show, which will be the final performance of "Bus Stop."
    Call 225-1001 for information or to make reservations.
    Cowboy Capital Ag Expo and Trade Show
    The expo, hosted by Winter Livestock, Inc. will move from Friday to Saturday.
    All times and events remain the same, just transferred to Saturday.
    The event takes place at the Magouirk Conference Center.
    Speakers include Luke Schwieterman, Congressman Tim Huelskamp and Andy Gottschalk.
    Trade show exhibits are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    AMBUCS Home and Leisure Show and KBUF RV Show
    No changes here — the shows will go on as scheduled.
    Hours at the Western State Bank Expo Center are:
        Today — 5 to 8 p.m.
        Saturday — 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
        Sunday — Noon to 5 p.m.
