Dodge City's Dylan Woods, Kaden Herbert and Amanda Simmons will represent the Red Demons at the 2013 Class 6A state after qualifying in the Maize regional meet Friday at Thunderbird Lanes.
Woods finished third in the individual standings with a 654. Woods had games of 204, 243 and 207 to lead the Red Demons. Herbert bowled a 228 in the first game and finished 11th in the individual standings at 610.
Simmons earned a spot in next week's meet after finishing third in the girls individual standings with a 589 series (207 in the third game).
The Demons finished sixth as a team in the tight nine-team regional with a 2,367 series. Campus won the meet at 2,494, followed by Wichita Southeast (2,474) and Garden City (2,447).
Daniel Calvin bowled a 573 series for the Red Demons (209 in the first), while Colt Woods had a 479 (214 in the second), Dalton Krayenhagen 459 and Jaden Fleener 456.
The Lady Demons finished seventh in their regionals after bowling an 1,812 series. Wichita East won the regional with a score of 2,233, followed by Campus (2,208) and Derby (2,081). Garden City finished fifth at 2,013.
Kaitlyn Tabor bowled a 424 series, followed by Cecelia Wiser (407), Ashely Hewes (360), Andrea Enciso (350) and Samantha Reyes (346).
The state tournament will be March 1 at Wichita's Northrock Lanes. Competition begins for the girls at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. for the boys.
