The St. John Tigers and Macksville Mustangs men's and women's basketball teams will be participating in St. John-Hudson's 1A (div. I) Sub-State basketball tournament throughout this week, along with the Victoria Knights, the Kinsley Coyotes and the La Crosse Leopards.

Both of the top seeded St. John teams as well as the second seeded Macksville men will receive byes and not play in the first round.

The Lady Mustangs will start things out playing the La Crosse Leopards on Tuesday at 6 pm., with the winner advancing on to play St. John Thursday in the 7:30 pm. second round game. The winner advances on to the finals and plays the other second round winner on Saturday, the game starting at 6 pm..

On the men's side, St. John will play the winner of the Kinsley-La Crosse game in the second round at 7:30 pm. on Friday while Macksville plays Victoria earlier in the 6 pm. game. The winner of St. John's and Macksville's second round games will advance on to the finals Saturday, the game starting at 7:30 pm..

The men's and women's Sub-State winners will move on to the 1A (div. I) State Basketball Tournament held in White Auditorium at Emporia - the women's games starting on Wednesday, March 6th while the men's games start on Thursday, March 7th. The semi's will be on Friday, March 8th, and the finals on Saturday, March 9th.
