The Dodge City Lady Conquistadors had their moments in their road Jayhawk West road contest against the Garden City Lady Broncbusters, but they never could find a way to stop Tamara Jones in losing 62-46 at Perryman Arena.
Jones scored 30 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in her final regular season game on her home court for her sixth straight double-double and 15th on the season for the Lady Busters.
The loss was the fourth in a row for the Lady Conqs (9-20, 3-12) with only one more regular season game left before the regional playoffs: Wednesday night against Butler at United Wireless Arena. The Lady Conqs will either play Cowley or Independence in the first round of the playoffs. The Lady Conqs are tied with Barton for the West's seventh seed.
Jameeshia Armstrong led Dodge City with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Kelli Tolar added 10 in the loss. The Lady Conqs shot 15-of-46 from the field in the game.
Deni Jacobs added 12 in the win for the Lady Busters (26-3, 12-3).
Tip-off for Wednesday's game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
