  • The Ingalls Lady Bulldogs and the Ashland Lady Bluejays will meet for the fourth time this season to determine who will be heading to the Class 1A-Division II state tournament next week at Fort Hays State University.
    The Lady Bulldogs improved to 22-0 on the season with a 56-31 victory over Fowler in one semifinal game in the sub-state tournament at Ingalls, while Ashland pounded Moscow 62-30 in the other. Ingalls has won all three previous meetings between the two squads.
    Rebecca Wyatt scored 11 of her team-high 16 points in the first half against the Lady Goldbugs. Deisy Estrada added 11 and Kaisha Batman 10 to help the Lady Bulldogs in the victory. Ingalls led 34-9 at halftime, giving up only three field goals before intermission.
    Nicole Friesen led Fowler (12-10) in scoring with 13 and Ashten Clark had 11 in the loss.
    The Lady Bluejays led by 11 at halftime before scoring 19 in the third quarter and 18 in the final stanza to record the victory.
    Elizabeth McKinney scored a season-high 27 points for Ashland (16-6), while Kara Reimer added 12 in the victory over the Wildcats. Kelsi Mueller scored 12 points and Kaitlyn Dobie added 10 in the loss for Moscow (17-5).
    Class 1A-Div. 1 at Coldwater
    South Central avenged a loss to the Minneola Wildcats with a 42-18 victory. The Lady Timberwolves outscored Minneola 11-4 in the opening quarter and solidified the win with a 14-2 third quarter.
    Reagan Bayne scored 12 points to lead South Central (7-13) and Alondro Rivero added 10 in the victory. Natalie Stewart led Minneola (1-18) with five points.
    South Central will play Spearville in a sub-state semifinal contest; while Bucklin (14-5) will play Satanta in the other girls semifinal. Satanta (9-12) beat Deerfield 60-27 in the other girls first round contest. Deerfield closes the season with a 1-19 record.
    BOYS
    Class 2A at Elkhart
    The Meade Buffaloes and South Gray Rebels will battle each other Saturday night for a spot in the Class 2A state tournament next week in Manhattan.
    The Buffaloes are 22-0 on the season after beating the host Elkhart Wildcats 82-40, while the Rebels also recorded a rout over Stanton County 73-40.
    Meade outscored Elkhart 21-9 in the first half and increased the lead to 44-20 by intermission to remain unbeaten on the season. Four players scored in double figures for the Buffaloes with Morgan Davis hitting six 3-pointers on the way to 22 points in the victory. Other double-figure scorers for the Buffaloes include Jett Little with 20 (17 in the first half), Randy Friesen with 16 and Mark Finster with 12. Hunter Bennett scored 13 points to lead Elkhart (11-10).
    The Rebels (18-4) scored 29 points in the first period and never looked back in their victory over the Trojans.
    Carson Skidmore scored 20 of his 24 points in the first half for the Rebels, while Trenton Holloway added 15 (12 before intermission). Jake Person also scored in double figures for South Gray with 10.
    Page 2 of 2 - Marques Logan led Stanton County (16-5) with 13 points, while Quinn Kendrick added 10 in the loss.
    Class 1A-Div. 1 at Coldwater
    Spearville 56, Satanta 36
    The Royal Lancers outscored the Indians 16-8 in the third quarter and 20-6 in the final stanza to record the their victory.
    Nathan Stein scored 22 points (including three 3-pointers), while Ashton Ratzlaff added 11 for Spearville (6-14). James Turpin scored 11 points to lead Satanta (4-17), while Zach Freeman added 10 for the Indians in the loss.
    Deerfield 64, Bucklin 47
    The Spartans outscored the Red Aces 25-6 in the second quarter to take control of the game and advance to play in a boys first round contest.
    Alex Mata scored 16 points, Mike Mata added 15 and Marc Skipper 10 in the victory for the Spartans (8-12). Trevon Herrera scored 13 and Brian Seacat 10 to lead Bucklin (2-17).
    Deerfield will play South Central (8-11) in tonight's semifinal action.
