  • Rebecca Barnhardt, a current Bucklin School Board member is running for re-election in the April 2 election. Barnhardt is completing her first four-year term on the board.
"I think that Bucklin is great school district, and we have a lot of really exciting things in the works," she said. "Things that began in my first term, and I'd like to see through."
Just a few of the exciting things coming to Bucklin include a Pathways program, a feasibility study that was just completed, an and exchange program with a German school and much more.
"I think that really says a lot about our school," Barnhardt said, "that even with budget cuts across the board and less funding, we're still expanding and offering more to our students."
Barnhardt knows first hand the value of a Bucklin education. She herself attended the school, then came back as a Spanish teacher. She is now retired. Her three children have also attended the school, they have all graduated now.
"I feel like I was able to get a good solid education at Bucklin," Barnhardt said, "and I think I've been successful because of that education throughout my life. And my children are all doing well too."
Barnhardt went on to say that for a small school in a small town, a lot of big things are happening at Bucklin. And that's really exciting.
