  • Elizabeth Aguilar, massage therapist at Phillips Chiropractic

  • What made you decided to become a massage therapist?
I used to give massages to my family all the time. They always told me I should make a career out of it, but I never really considered it. I thought it was just a hobby. But, when I went to school for nursing, I just didn't feel like that it was what I was supposed to be doing. Then, I looked into massage therapy, and I just knew that's what I wanted to do.

What does a massage therapist do?
As a massage therapist, I offer my patients therapeutic as well as relaxing services. I relax their muscles and get rid of knots, which makes it easier for the chiropractors to work on them. Massages also help patients to get rid of stress, and relax. I mean, it's a massage! I offer hot stone and prenatal massages. And can help patients with many different issues.
Is this your full time job?
No, I also work at Dodge City Middle School as a para. Paraeducators provide instructional support in schools in several ways including tutoring, classroom management and translation. I work with 6th, 7th and 8th graders each morning. The kids are all great, but they wear me out. In the afternoons I come here to Phillips Chiropractic and give massages. I could do that all day and not get tired! Once school lets out for the summer, I'll spend all day here.
