This is Kevin Rueb's first time running for school board, but he's no stranger to the educational system. Rueb was a teacher, coach and administrator for 12 years.
"I started teaching in Hanston, then moved to Texas, to a town just outside of Houston where I taught for several years before moving back to Spearville," Rueb said.
Rueb now works selling heavy construction equipment and is looking forward to giving back to his community.
"When I moved back here, I wanted to find a way to give back," Rueb said. "This seemed like great way to do that."
Currently, Rueb doesn't have any children enrolled in the Spearville schools, but he has two that will attend once they reach school age.
Rueb said he is excited for his children to start attending school because he feels that Spearville is a great school district and his children will receive many benefits from attending.
"There's nothing specific I want to try and accomplish if I'm elected," Rueb said. "I don't have an agenda. I just want to do what's best for the kids, and the community."
