Dr. Wallace Hunter, 93, passed away in West Monroe, La. February 10.
Dr. Wallace Hunter, 93, passed away in West Monroe, La. February 10. He was born in Sylvia, Kan. on February 13, 1919, the sixth of 12 children. In 1922 the family moved to Dodge City. He married Doris Groves on August 18, 1940. Doris passed away in 1981. Wallace was a Chiropractor in Dodge City from 1947 until 1997. After graduating from Carver Chiropractic School, he served in the Medical Corps during World War II. Wallace married Lois Collie in 1983 and in 1997 they moved to Louisiana. Wallace loved people, was a friend to many, and spent his life in service to others. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Lois and his three children, Darla Phillips of Liberal Kan., Doug Hunter of Harwood Texas, and Beth Iriye of San Carlos Calif.; four step-children; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. His surviving siblings include a brother, Robert Hunter of Abilene, Texas and two sisters, Dawn Trinta of Erie, Colo. and Laurice Hunter of Wheatridge, Colo. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Church of Christ located at 2300 Central Avenue in Dodge City.
