  • Barbara Sue Hrencher, 58, passed away at Wm.Newton Memorial Hospital Tuesday,April 9, 2013. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 at Swisher-Taylor Morris Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 5 p.m. at the Swisher-Taylor & Morris Chapel. Burial Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Ashland, Kan. Interment follows in St Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial is the Holy Name Catholic Church & School. Condolences may be sent to funeraldirector@stmfh.com Barbara was born April 13, 1954 in Meade, Kan. to Gilbert J. and Mary L. (Lincoln) Krier. She was raised and attended schools in the rural area, graduating from Ashland High School in 1972. She attended Pratt Community College. She married LeRoy Hrencher, they later divorced in 1996. She worked as a contract Administrator for the USDA. She retired from that position after 30 years in 2010. Barbara fought cancer personally, for 13 years. She was very active in many organizations. She was the main organizer for “Bras for the Cause” and Walk for Cancer. She had been co-chairwoman of the Relay for Life since 2000 and Chairperson for the USDA Team 2005-10. Barbara was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Winfield, a lector and church secretary at the Church and was part of the Reading Buddy Program at the Holy Name School. She was also a member of the Kansas Association of County Office Employees for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary L (Lincoln) Krier. She is survived by her son, 1SG Christopher Noell of the US Army; daughters, Maggie Persinger of Winfield and Naomi Persinger of Topeka; brothers, Robert G. Krier of Ashland Kan., and Jeffery Krier also of Ashland; sisters, Nancy Finley of Coffeyville, Kan., Debi Krier of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mary Jo Heyka of Manhattan, Kan.
