  • The north branch of Bank of America in Dodge City, 2307 Central Ave., will be closing July 19.
According to Diane Wagner, spokesperson for the bank, the branch will be consolidated with the main Bank of America location in Dodge City at 619 N. 2nd Avenue.
According to Wagner, Bank of America customers were notified of the closing in a letter mailed April 5.
Wagner said the company will work to place all employees from the north branch at the 2nd Avenue location. She also said all accounts will be transferred to the main branch.
Bank of America is one of seven banks in Dodge City and ranks first in deposits — $991 million according to the latest data available from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s Deposit Market Share Report.
The consolidation was triggered by an increase in the number of customers who rely on other methods of banking, such as mobile and online options, rather than going to the bank itself, Wagner said.
A permanent ATM will remain at the location after the close.
