  • Did you always know you would become a pastor?
No, I originally went to school to be a lawyer. I wasn't raised in a Christian household, but when I was a sophomore in college I became one. Through becoming a Christian I met several people and had wonderful interactions with them. The man who discipled me asked if I had ever considered becoming a pastor. I hadn’t but I asked God about it. He let me know that was the right choice for me, so I enrolled in Dallas Theological Seminary.
You're new to Dodge; what brought you here?
Yes. I've been here about a month now. Everyone's been very welcoming so far.
While I was in school I volunteered for a church in Dallas, but my first paid position as a pastor was in Romney, W. Va. It's a small town of about 5,000. I stayed there for about three and-a-half years. A friend of mine from seminary school, Joel Grizzle pastor in Lyons, Kan., knew I was looking to move to a bigger community so he sent my application to First Baptist, and they brought me here. Well, God really brought me here, but it was through these people.
What do you want people to know about you and your style of preaching?
I'm excited to be in Dodge, and be at the First Baptist Church. Everyone has been so welcoming, at the church and in town. I'm looking forward to preaching in this community. I preach about deep things, but  I make it understandable to everyone. I want everyone to feel welcome in the church and I hope they all get something out of my message.
