These 27 WWII veterans that will be traveling to Washington, D.C. are excited about this great opportunity to see their WWII Memorial. They depart from Wichita and Kansas City early on Wednesday, April 24th for a two night stay in our nation’s capital.
In addition to visiting their Memorial that honors their service to our country 70 years ago, they will enjoy a tour of other memorials and museums. A highlight of the trip is to visit Arlington National Cemetery to witness the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
They return to the Wichita airport on Friday afternoon, the 26th at 4:45 p.m. and into Kansas City at 4:15 p.m. The public is invited to greet these members of the Greatest Generation to welcome them home.
