  • Main Street to host “A Most Unique Carnegie Library” Presentation

  • In celebration of National Historic Preservation Month, on Thursday, May 16 at 6:30
    p.m., Anthony Lyons, Vice President of Community and Industry Relations at Dodge City Community College, will be presenting “A Most Unique Carnegie Library” at the Carnegie Center for the Arts, located at 701 N. 2nd Avenue in downtown Dodge City.

    p.m., Anthony Lyons, Vice President of Community and Industry Relations at Dodge City Community College, will be presenting “A Most Unique Carnegie Library” at the Carnegie Center for the Arts, located at 701 N. 2nd Avenue in downtown Dodge City.
    The presentation will feature the history behind the historic Dodge City Carnegie Library building and the stories and tales that have transformed this historic structure into what it is today. In addition, the presentation will include information on Andrew Carnegie and his role in establishing the Carnegie library in Dodge City, as well as the numerous Carnegie Libraries throughout Kansas.
