Charles Robert Mitchell, 92, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at his residence in Haswell.
He was born August 14, 1920 to Grover and Edith (Thompson) Mitchell. He was a long-time farmer and rancher in the Haswell area. He married Helen Marie Sisson on June 4, 1975 in Las Animas, Colo.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of the Haswell home; one son, Edward (Catherine) Mitchell of Douglas, Wyo.; two step-sons, James (Kristine) Mitchell of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Allen (Donna) Mitchell of Cottonwood, Ariz.; three daughters, Sherrill (Cloid) Tippie of Lancaster, Calif., Rebecca (Pat) Pointon of Pueblo West, Colo., and Ellen (Paul) Reinhart of Portland, Texas; two step-daughters, Elizabeth (Douglas) Wilson of Delmar, Calif.. Kathryn (Richard) Johnson of Rio Rancho, N.M.; four sisters, Edna Imel of Spearville, Kan., Annabelle Hazelwood of Nashville, Tenn., Rosemary Mitchell of Dodge City, Kan., and Nellie Bell of Alabama; 13 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by three brothers, Edward, Raymond and William.
Funeral services were held April 24, 2013 at the Haswell Community Building.
Casket bearers were Ed Mitchell, Arthur Mitchell, Pat Pointon, Shane Collander, Richard Johnson and Paul Reinhart.
Burial was in the Haswell Cemetery with Horber Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Ark Valley Hospice or the Haswell Senior Center.
