Roger C. Arensdorf, 91, passed away in Boise, Idaho on May 13, 2013. He was born on September 11, 1921 in Ellinwood, Kansas to Peter Arensdorf and Edith Komarek Arensdorf, both of whom preceded him in death. Both of his brothers, Russell Arensdorf and Robert Arensdorf also preceded him in death. In addition to his wife of nearly 70 years, Geraldine Lea Arensdorf, Roger is survived by his five children: Jennifer Arensdorf Morlan, Ann Arensdorf Taylor, John Arensdorf, Kathy Arensdorf Brown and Chris Arensdorf. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He spent his early years growing up on a farm near Ensign, Kansas with his parents and brothers. Upon graduating from Fort Hays Kansas State College in 1943, Roger proudly served his country as a Naval Officer in the Amphibious Forces during World War II. After the war, he returned to Southwest Kansas where he spent his working career as a Soil Conservationist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He retired in 1980. Roger and Geraldine moved to New Braunfels, Texas in July 1990. In New Braunfels, Roger was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the noon Lions Club. In August 2012 Roger and Geraldine moved to Boise, Idaho to be near family. Anyone who knew him will know he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. No service is currently planned. The family will have a private memorial at a later date. Arrangements are being handled through Summers Funeral Home, Meridian, ID.
