Hey Everyone! I got to spend my morning at Wright Park. The weather was beautiful and so were the grounds. Awesome job by the Dodge City Parks Department!

If you "like" the Dodge City Convention and Visitors Bureau's page on facebook, then you've surely heard the good news. We have a new addition to the Wright Park Zoo!! Brutus and Miss Daisy are the proud parents of a new baby buffalo. I was able to snap a couple pictures of them before they went to hide in the Tipi. Brutus stood guard to assure me that I was as close as I was going to get. (Or as my nephew would say...he wanted to eat me for lunch!)
We do have just one small problem... we don't have a name for the baby yet! The zookeeper, Tony, hasn't been able to get close enough to determine the gender. However, once we receive the news we will  be holding a contest for the best name! Watch our facebook page for contest details, or subscribe to my blog and I'll share them with you.

Now for more pictures of my friends from the Zoo!!! (This is the first blog I've ever kept, but I'm thinking along lines of any good book. The more pictures...the better!)If you haven't been to the Wright Park Zoo, I would highly recommend it. The facilities are clean, the animals are friendly, and best of all...ITS FREE! Not convinced yet? Check out this awesome show that Hide, the bear put on for me! I'm convinced she is waving to me!
And remember folks....always live like someone left the gate open!
