  • The Dodge City Rangers exploded for 37 runs against the Ulysses Tigers in winning both games of a road doubleheader in American Legion action.

"I'm very palsied to how we played because ti could have been essay after taking two from Hays, that we may not have been focused against a team like Ulysses, who is a talented club," said Rangers' head coach Chris Chilton. "We threw strikes and we made only one error on the day. We didn't try to do too much and did what we needed to do to come home with two Ws."
Andrew Balderaz, Drew Chance and Dawson Davis went 3-for-4 with two doubles in the opener, while Hunter Olivarez went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three runs. Dillon Roy and Gideon Wells also scored three runs in the opener.
Austin Weiser was the winning pitcher, giving up two earned runs, two hits and a walk while striking out nine in the complete game.
Balderaz was the winning pitcher in the second game, giving up a run, four hits and two walks while striking out two in his four innings of work. Balderaz was also 3-for-5 at the plate with a double, triple and three runs scored in the nightcap.
