Deer dead picA motorcyclist was traveling through the Quivera Wildlife Refuge area early this morning when a deer darted in front of him. He was injured in the accident, but able to crawl back to roadway. And luckily he had a cell phone to call for help.

Initial information provided the roadway location as K-19 which is in western Stafford County. The actual location was in eastern Stafford County (K-19 turns into 140th Street on the east side of Highway 281).

The location misinformation was quickly discovered and emergency responders were rerouted to the proper location. The motorcyclist was treated and transported to Stafford County Hospital. A life flight crew transported the motorcyclist from there to Hays Regional Medical Center.
