Quote of note
"I am happy she is getting out ... and I wish her the very best. She is supposed to call me when she gets out, and we're supposed to meet and go shopping. I told her whenever she got out, I'd treat her. I have a friend who would like to buy her an outfit, and I want to buy her a computer." - Bill Pelke, the grandson of a woman who was killed by 16-year-old Paula Cooper in 1986. Pelke said he long ago forgave Cooper - who originally received a death sentence - and was one of many who petitioned to get her released from death row. Her sentence was changed to a 60-year prison term in 1989.
