  • Larry C. Huff, 72, died June 17, 2013 at Hays Medical Center, Hays. He was born on October 29, 1940 at Modesto, California, the son of Edward Clayton Huff and Georgia (Jordan) Wince. He grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and attended schools there. He served in the U.S. Navy.

  • Larry C. Huff, 72, died June 17, 2013 at Hays Medical Center, Hays. He was born on October 29, 1940 at Modesto, California, the son of Edward Clayton Huff and Georgia  (Jordan) Wince. He grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and attended schools there. He served in the U.S. Navy.
    On August 8, 1961 he married Alyce M. "Jonnie" Anderson at Florence, Arizona. She preceded him in death on February 3, 2006. Larry worked as a route salesman for various companies and most recently for Bimbo Bread Company. He loved boxing and boxed in several amateur and pro matches. Larry trained and coached Dodge City area youth in the Golden Gloves boxing program. His devotion to the program led those he coached to become state and Kansas/Oklahoma regional Golden Gloves champions.
    He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.
    Survivors include four sons, Richard Huff, U.S. Special Forces, and wife Dana of Ft. Carson, Colorado, Patrick and Christopher Huff of Phoenix, Arizona and Jeffery Huff, Dodge City; four daughters, Thereasa Huff and Jamie Huff of Phoenix, Arizona, Christina Huff, Colorado and Stephanie Campos of Texas; Mother, Georgia Wince of Phoenix, Arizona; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren;  two brothers, Thomas Huff, Florida and David Huff, Washington; three sisters, Beverly Mettes, Arizona, Karen Hartsog, California and Annette Reynolds, California.
    He was preceded in death by his father, a son Donald Huff, two grandchildren, Alanna and Angela Luna and two brothers,  David and Donald Huff.
    A vigil service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 7:00 P.M.  Funeral mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ted Skalsky celebrating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Holdrege, Nebraska. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place but friends may sign the book from 9 AM to 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
