  • Edna was born in Holly, Colorado to Adrian and Inez Reish on January 20, 1921. After 92 years of wonderful life, she passed into the arms of her Savior on June 21, 2013 at her home in Rolling Hills Assisted Living in Topeka, KS. Edna is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert Morlan, her sons Rex
Morlan (and wife Jennifer), Tom Morlan (and wife Christina) and daughter Sheryl Vogel (and husband Jeff), grandchildren Sara, Elizabeth, Edward, Chrissie, Adrian, Andrew, Jon, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Morlan and her sister Marie McKee (Austin).
Edna “Eddie” spent her early childhood in Southwest Colorado, then the family moved to Dodge City, KS where she graduated from Dodge City Senior High and Dodge City Community College. During World War II she lived in Oakland while husband Bob served in the Navy. After the War, Bob and “Eddie” settled back in Dodge City and became members of St. Cornelius Episcopal Church.
She was a wonderful homemaker and mother to her four children and famous for making the World’s best cinnamon rolls and kraut berocks. Nothing in the world made Eddie as happy as spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The sight of any baby always made her light up with joy.
While living and raising her family in Dodge City, “Eddie” was very close to her beloved mother, Inez Reish and her sister Marie McKee and the families frequently got together for Sunday dinner and on Holidays.
She will be missed by all who knew her. No service is planned. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery. Arrangements will be handled by Swaim Funeral Home.
