The Dodge City Athletics tied their game with the El Dorado Broncos in the fourth inning Sunday night at Cavalier Field before losing to the Broncos 5-2 and getting swept in the Jayhawk League series.

The Broncos scored two runs in the top of the first on a single by Thomas Clay and a fielders choice by Philip Esposito.
Dodge City scored a run in the third on a RBI double by David LaFleur after Zach Jacobs opened the inning with a single. The Athletics tied the game when Cole Davis scored due to a fielding error by first baseman Wade Stramp.
El Dorado scored the final runs in the top of the fifth on another RBI single by Clay, followed by a two-run double by Daniel Droll.
Christian Cox was the winning pitcher for the Broncos, throwing seven innings and giving up five and three walks while striking out five. Alex Posey recorded his second save in as many games, giving up a hit in two innings of work.
Ryan Petersen suffered the pitching defeat for the Athletics. Petersen threw 4 1/3 innings, giving five hits, three runs and two walks while striking out one.
The Broncos won the season series four games to two.
Dodge City will face the Hays Larks on the road in another league contest at 7 p.m. tonight.
