A. Joleen "Joby" Fromm, 86, died June 28, 2013 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on February 22, 1927 at Dodge City, the daughter of Guy and Marian (Brown) Cowan.
Joleen was a graduate of Dodge City Senior High School. She later attended the Colorado Womens College in Denver, Colorado. On September 28, 1947 she married Frederic W. Fromm in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1980. A lifetime resident of Dodge City, Mrs. Fromm was a dental assistant for 32 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dodge City, Soroptimist Club, Dodge City Assembly #12 Social Order of Beauceant, St. Bernard Chapter #97 Order of Easter Star, Women's Chamber and American Legion Auxiliary all of Dodge City.
Joleen is survived by a nephew, Dan Hacker and wife Mary of Lecompton; a niece, Terry Ensz and husband Stan of Olathe; three great nieces and nephews; and seven great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Janice Cooke.
Funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
