  • American Medical Response (AMR), the largest ground EMS service in the country, has expanded to include air ambulance operations in the Hawaiian Islands through their air medical program, AMR Air-Hawaii. LifeTeam, a locally owned air medical transport company, has been selected as the operator of choice to provide aviation services for AMR in this new venture. LifeTeam’s highly trained flight crews will pair with the AMR medical team to safely transport patients with a medical emergency to definitive care in the Hawaiian Islands.   LifeTeam will control the aviation operations utilizing their Part 135 certificate for an initial 3 King Air C90Bs, which will be based on the Big Island of Hawaii, Maui and Oahu.
LifeTeam and AMR Air’s goal is to provide a complete system to Hawaii so that each and every patient needing rapid transport can be responded to quickly and safely, receiving the level of care they would in an intensive care unit. Randall Strozyk, AMR Air Chief Executive Officer, feels this partnership will provide Hawaii with the appropriate extension of the life-saving care that AMR has already established. “We are very excited to have LifeTeam join us as our aviation partner in Hawaii. AMR and its predecessor companies have been serving the Islands for over 40 years and the establishment of an air ambulance program is a logical continuation of that
commitment to the people of Hawaii. LifeTeam brings to the program a leadership team that is incredibly skilled in aircraft operations as well as first hand understanding of air medical services. From day one of our relationship, the level of commitment has been more than we could ever have hoped for and we look forward
to expanding into new programs with them in the coming years.”
The LifeTeam and AMR Air crews will be “ready alert” 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.   Martin Sellberg MD,
President and CEO of LifeTeam, sees this as an ideal addition of his company’s primary mission.  “LifeTeam is
very pleased to have been chosen to contribute to this important project.  AMR's patient-focused approach in
its Hawaii operations and throughout its system has proven to be a very natural fit for our company.  We will
continue to lean forward with AMR in this venture and wherever our brand of clinical and aviation excellence
can make a positive difference in people's lives.”
LifeTeam’s state-of-the-art Communication Center will play a key role in this expansion. Each transport in
Hawaii will be dispatched and monitored from the Command Center located in LifeTeam's headquarters. Missi
Knott, LifeTeam Chief Operating Officer, feels that LifeTeam is primed for this project. “This is a natural
Page 2 of 2 - expansion for our Company; we have the necessary infrastructure in place, as well as the talent and expertise.
AMR has done an  excellent job of  developing strong hospital relationships throughout the Islands. We are
pleased to partner with AMR and contribute to the success of this project well into the future."
LifeTeam,  an independent and physician driven air medical transport service headquartered in Kansas, has
been caring for patients since 2001. LifeTeam has an unrivaled reputation for patient care and an excellent
