Roy Francis Riedlinger, age 70, of Frisco, Texas, passed away suddenly on July 9, 2013. Roy was born on October 25, 1942 in Spearville, Kansas to Ferdinand and Rosa (Spahn) Riedlinger. He married Mary Jane Otte on December 21, 1979 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Although Roy received his PhD in mathematics and began a career in academia, he spent most of his working years in the computer industry and business process consulting.
Roy's quick mind and competitive spirit created the framework for his life. In retirement Roy enjoyed travel, especially riding his motorcycle on solo trips. Card games were a passion, mainly duplicate bridge and poker. Soccer was also of great importance, with much time spent on Hattrick and attending FC Dallas soccer games. His family was of utmost importance to him, and he was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, MJ Riedlinger of Frisco, Texas; son, John Riedlinger (Anna Sundberg) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughters, Katharine Riedlinger (Jared Stevenson) of Pflugerville, Texas and Elizabeth Riedlinger (Shawn Scott) of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Quinlan and Zoe Stevenson and Grey Brown; siblings, Avis and Bill Ross of Lubbock, Texas, Evangeline Trent of Dodge City, Kansas; Ken and Cynthia Prelo-Riedlinger of Tularosa, New Mexico.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 30th, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7000 Morning Star Drive, The Colony,TX 75056 at 3:00pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at The Frisco Lakes Village Center, 7277 Frisco Lakes Drive, Frisco, TX 75034 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
