  • Dodge City Days 2013: Party in the Park Family Focus and Family Friendly
Billed last year as “partying Wright” this year’s Party in the Park will not disappoint those choosing to attend this fun filled family event.
The Sunday, July 28th event gets kicked off with the addition of the Radio Disney folks from Kansas City who will be on hand to provide kids with the Disney-style celebration. They’ll be on hand for only 1-hour from 4:00 to 5:30 pm so you don’t want to arrive late.
Enrique “El Gato” Rodriguez will be the MC, and will keep things lively with dozens of local performers and entertainers on hand to energize the crowd. Sponsored by National Beef, Cargill Meat Solutions, and the Chamber’s Multicultural Committee, this family friendly event gets bigger and better every year. Admission to the park is just a lapel pin and numerous vendors will be on hand for the 4 – 10 p.m. event at Wright Park.
Dodge City Days 2013: Construction forces Teen Dance move to Hoover Pavilion
Dodge City Days Officials announced today that due to renovation and expansion projects at Dodge City Community College the very popular Dodge City Days Teen Dance will be moved to the Hoover Pavilion in Wright Park.
Scheduled for the evening of Monday, July 29th from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. the event was moved to the Pavilion to accommodate the growing popularity of the Teen Dance, athletic field expansion projects at DC3, and occasional weather challenges.
“We’re also weather-proofing this very popular event,” noted Dodge City Days coordinator, Addy Melendez. “Several radio stations, Z-98 and La Ke Buena, will be providing music for the dance and the Pavilion is the perfect place to hold this event so that we can make certain that the kids and the electronics stay dry,” she noted.
The dance is open for kids 12 – 18 years of age. Admission is only $2 with a lapel pin and includes the dance, pizza from Pizza Hut and Pepsi products.
