Coach Lucas McDonald has stepped down as the head coach of the Dodge City Community College women's basketball team.
Lucas spent two years with the Lady Conqs. He previously spent five seasons as a head girls basketball coach in the Birmingham, Alabama area.
Coach McDonald is returning to the Alabama area to continue his career.
McDonald had a record of 17-45 overall and 3-29 in the Jayhawk Conference.
He was no stranger to the Lady Conquistador basketball program.
Coach McDonald was an assistant coach for Jim Turgeon from 2001 to 2004.
During his second stint at Dodge City Community College, McDonald continued to help improve the Lady Conquistador basketball program.
Athletic Director Casey Malek said "we have really appreciated Lucas' dedication and service to the Athletic Department and the college as a whole.
"He will be missed and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. This is a great opportunity for him to return to a place where he has roots."
