Cecil Duaine Denton, 81, died August 2, 2013 at his home in Cawker City.
He was born June 26, 1932 in Montezuma, the son of Cecil Raymond and Wilma Gertrude Culver Denton. A longtime area resident, he was a Dairyman/Farmer and the owner of Denton Trucking. He belonged to the United Methodist Church, Jetmore and attended the Lighthouse Church in Cawker City. He also belonged to the Dairy Herd Association. On February 7, 1953, he married Doris A. Phillips at Cimarron. She survives. Other survivors include; a son, Danny Denton, Jetmore; four daughters, Debbie Allen, Dodge City, Donna Leikam, Deanna Sherrill, both of Jetmore, Danetta Gochanour, Cawker City; his mother, Wilma Gertrude Denton, Cimarron; six brothers, Vernon, Ingalls, Jack, Dodge City, Clovis, Garden City, Ronald and Richard, Carthage, Missouri, and Robert, Liberal; a sister, Darla Kopper, Dodge City; eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Raymond Denton; a brother, Donald; two sisters, Sharon Smith, Donna Denton and a granddaughter. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with Pastor Dennis Fulton presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
