    El Dorado Bronco pitchers Chance Cotton and Eric Scheuermann combined on a one-hitter in a 1-0 win over the rival Hays Larks in an elimination game of the 79th National Baseball Congress World Series at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
    Cotton went 7 1-3 innings for the win, allowing a hit, seven walks and eight strikeouts. Scheuermann finished the game for the save.
    The Broncos scored in the bottom of the first inning on a Clayton Taylor RBI single. No player in the game had more than one hit.
    Spencer Neve had the sole hit in the game for the Larks, which ends the tournament 2-2.
    Hays starter Ross Vance took the loss, allowing a run on three hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Ian Bentley and Graylon Brown finished the game.
    In other games, the Wellington Heat downed the San Luis Obispo Blues 8-2 and the Santa Barbara Foresters and Seattle Studs were in progress at deadline.
    Wellington scored four runs in the first inning and four more in the top of the eighth to take control against San Luis Obispo.
    Derek Fischer went seven innings for the win, allowing two runs on seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Noah Coleman finished the game, striking out three.
    T.C. Mark went three for four hitting with three RBIs. Nick Thimesch drove in two runs. Tony Piazza went three for four. Kirk Rocha went two for five with an RBI. Aaron Siple and Nick Billinger each added an RBI.
    The Blues used seven pitchers with starter Matt Lynch taking the loss. Ryan Attaway and Taylor Anderson each went two for four hitting for the Blues. Jimmy Allen and Anderson each drove in a run.
