The Kansas Department of Transportation expects two road sealing projects on K-156 in Finney and Hodgeman counties to begin by Wednesday, August 28. Combined, the two projects run from the west junction of K-156 and K-23 in Finney County to 7/10 of a mile east of the junction of K-156 and U.S. 283 in Hodgeman County.
During construction, traffic will be limited to one lane through the work zone, guided by a pilot car. Drivers can expect delays of 15 minutes or less. The Kansas DOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.
Heft and Sons, L.L.C., of Greensburg, is the primary contractor on these two projects with a combined cost of about 850-thousand dollars. KDOT expects work on these two projects to be completed by the end of September, depending on weather.
