Thomas E. Brown, 60, of Leavenworth, Kan., passed away Aug. 26, 2013.
Funeral Services will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Thomas was born July 22, 1953 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Lester E. and Helen D. (Jenkins) Brown.
He attended and graduated from Leavenworth High School and Kansas State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
Tom traveled the world as the road manager for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and the Oak Ridge Boys. He was employed 29 years as a Foreman with Leavcon Concrete.
His memberships and accomplishments include: Laborers’ International Union Local #264; Gypsy Aces Motorcycle Club, Kansas City Barbeque Society, “Can’t Stop the Smoke” BBQ Team; various Sailboat racing teams. He held the rank of Eagle Scout and was a proud owner and trainer of many Golden Retrievers.
He is survived by his brother, Samuel Brown, of Cameron, Mo., and his Golden Retriever, Worthington.
Memorials in his name may be directed to Belden-Larkin Funeral Home on behalf of "Worthington" to be distributed to Animal Rescues Centers.
